Terry Fox Run tomorrow at CMV
Students will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Run tomorrow afternoon. Students are reminded to dress for the weather and bring a water bottle.

Curriculum Night this Thursday!
Our Curriculum Night will take place on Thursday, September 22. A BBQ has been set up beginning at 5 pm and classroom visits will follow at 6 pm to 7 pm. Hope to see you there!
Learning Goals: Week of September 19th
This week in Math, students will continue to read, represent, compare and order whole numbers to 1 000 000 *grade 6 and 100 000 *grade 5. Exit tickets on classroom activities will take place this week to assess their understanding of this concept. Students can practice at home with provided worksheets and websites (see below) to clarify understanding.

In French, students continue to meet with me to assess their independent reading level. We are learning to write descriptive paragraphs and scientific explanations as we tackle our first Science unit - Space (grade 6) and Human Body Systems (5).
Students are reminded to bring back their library books on DAY 2 as this is our scheduled library day with Mr. Ayotte.
ITEMS to be purchased: Please ensure that your child has a DUDLEY lock for their locker. A calculator and protractor would be good additions to their school tools.

WELCOME BACK SNOWBIRDS!
I hope that you had a fantastic summer and are all ready for the exciting grade five or six year I have planned for you. Please ensure that you complete all forms sent home today especially your JUNGLESPORT AGREEMENT form. This is necessary for you to have prior to participating in this fun physical education program.
This BLOG PAGE will be updated weekly so try to take a peek throughout the week for CURRICULUM FOCI and learning expectations. There are many links and helpful tips and tricks as well that I will add when appropriate.
A classroom newsletter was sent home today (Mr Mark's class will be sent home tomorrow). Please find attached a copy of the grade six schedule as well as a GETTING TO KNOW YOUR CHILD form (blue - grade 6/ orange- Mr Mark's class). I would ask that this form be returned to me as soon as possible.
I am looking forward to a great first week and a fabulous 2016-2017 year!
